worklog

i've started listening to the radio - radio national - on the internet.

i've also started a new blog - worklog. i was having a look at katy's sexy new site and got inspired. i followed her links to neil's site where i found the templates.
we had some issues installing stuff and sorting archives, so there's been some minor hiccups. actually, it meant i had to totally redo every single template. so there are no doubt heaps of crappy hacks in it.
but i learnt how to make forms (including dropdown menus!), and how to do sexy navigation things. i made great use of elise's site in the process - her instructions and tutorials are so easy to use, so easy i've learnt most of what i know about websiting from her blog alone.

despite the odd broken/incomplete bits, i'm very happy with it. i think it's very sexy.
and i now have renewed, huge plans for freeswingpress, when we get it back up and running.

this is of course entirely an exercise in procastination, brought on my my grazing through phd weblogs. i'd started with a range of women academics' sites, but found phd weblogs just the best. it's so nice to hear from other pgrads!
and it really inspired me to blog my thesis work properly. i've found writing on dogpossum very helpful, and think that the new worklog will help me even more. plus it's pretty.

I have a somewhat abandoned research blog that i've been thinking of rejuvenating now that work is actually happening on the thesis is a satisfying way. I just have to work on the CSS cause it's hideous at the moment...

may you inspire me! :)
