i've been tapped...
ok, so scotti has challenged me to match his fillum list... i'd comment on his list, but, well... look, have a look for yourselves and see why words escape me.
right.
1. total number of films i own on dvd/video:
10. that's all. unlike scotti, who has problems with defining 'film', i didn't count things like music videos... oh, maybe i should include a couple of documentary films. so make my total 12.
i do, however, live in a collective type household with someone who acquires films on dvd all the time so our combined total would be about a million billion.
2. the last film i bought? hm.... well, i'm not sure. i think it was spiceworld about 10 years ago. on video (which i can't watch because i don't have a vcr).
the last one the squeeze bought (which i like to pretend i partly own) is the incredibles. the last one i had bought for me was... day at the races (dance nerdery). hm. or maybe it was kill bill (1 and 2) for my birthday last november... or maybe it was the black stallionfrom my mum...
look, i can't remember. just know: i don't buy dvds or vcrs ever. except when i buy them for others. right, so if i answer the question literally, the last dvd film i bought was enter the dragon for the squeeze's birthday in april.

3. the last film i watched? um, we saw hitchiker's guide to the galaxy yesterday. which bored me. i liked the douglas adams books a lot (and started with them) though the last one or so bored me. the series i dug, when i was a kid. and though i liked the film, i guess it just didn't grab me. nothing all that new for me. i still like the books best.
4. five films that i watch a lot or that mean a lot to me?
uummm...
i) i really like the black stallion. it's a beautiful film, full of horsey goodness. i watch it every now and then. on my own.
ii) 10 things i hate about you. eminently watchable.
iii) practical magic. oh man, i can watch this film over and over and over and over.
iv) any of the aliens films. i quite like resurrection, even though i'm alone on that.
v) urrmmm... i know there's something i've forgotten. the squeeze'll probably know it... hmmm. what do i regularly borrow from the video store...
oh look, it could be 3 colours: blue (for nostalgia's sake); it could be rushmore (because that's where i first met wes anderson's films); it could be raising arizona because it was my first coen brother films; it could be shall we dance for fred astaire; it could be hellzapoppin' because that dance sequence never fails to wow me (how fucking nerdy. i apologise)...
aw heck, i don't know.
i think it's going to be rushmore. because i loved the life aquatic so very much*.
5. who am i passing the baton to next and why?
ok, i don't know if i know 5 people who read by blog regularly and are bloggers themeselves, so...

hey, go here and listen to 'let me tell you about my boat'. that's why i loved that film: it was silly, absurd, and funny, but this song reminds me that it was also touching and nice.
oh man, i'd forgotten how much i loved the rushmore soundtrack. hell, i'd love a copy of that. it's one thing i left with my ex that i really regret letting go of.
oh, right, yeah, i was on a mission. a list.
um, i need two more people, right? no, three? aw heck,i don't know. next 3 people who put their hands up or add their list in the comments to this post get it. go. go you good thing!
